Curling circuit

Polymer curling track, also known as simulated curling track or land curling track, is a modular assembly of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE)/HDPE high-density polyethylene sheets. It does not require ice making or refrigeration equipment, and can be used for curling at room temperature. It is mainly used for school popularization, team building, and public training. High end competition models can approach the feeling of real ice sliding.

1、 Core materials
Main board: Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), with some popular models using HDPE.
Features: Self lubrication, ultra-high wear resistance, impact resistance, high and low temperature resistance (-40 ℃~+80 ℃), non absorbent, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, recyclable
Plate thickness: conventional 12-25mm; high-end competition board surface treated with micro texture, friction coefficient 0.04-0.08, close to real ice
Splicing method: mortise and tenon locking buckle splicing, with a seam gap of 0.5mm to ensure smooth sliding; Removable and reusable for relocation and use
 Auxiliary: some versions are equipped with special spray lubricant to further reduce sliding resistance
3、 The biggest difference from a real ice track
one ✅ Temperature unlimited: used at room temperature, not limited by seasons or regions, and can also be set up in southern venues
two ✅ Low cost: one-time board investment, no ongoing electricity bills, no ice maker, no need for distilled water; Operating costs are more than 80% lower than real ice, and the service life can reach 10-15 years
three ✅ Removable and movable: After competitions and events, it can be disassembled and stored, and the venue can be reused
four ⚠️ Core difference: Traditional polymer land tracks cannot brush ice (rub ice), and cannot change the trajectory of curling like real ice by brushing ice; The high-end simulation ice version can support ice brushing, with a simulation degree of up to 80%~95%, and can create curved rotations
five ⚠️ Supporting Curling: Granite standard curling can be used for competitive polymer tracks; Simple dry land tracks are usually paired with polymer ice rinks with ball bearings at the bottom.
4、 Advantages and disadvantages
Advantage
All day, indoor and outdoor use, no need for cooling
Wear resistant and impact resistant, easy to maintain, only needs to be wiped and cleaned daily, and regularly sprayed with lubricant
Modular, easy to transport and disassemble, and can be quickly set up for temporary activities
Safe, without the risk of slipping and frostbite on ice, suitable for teaching and promoting among teenagers
shortcoming
The regular popular version does not support ice wiping, and the tactics lack ice brushing variables, which is different from the actual ice experience of the Winter Olympics
Long term use of the board surface may result in minor scratches and require regular maintenance
The resistance feel of long-distance sliding still has slight differences from real ice
5、 Application scenarios
Primary and secondary school ice and snow classes, sports hall public experience, enterprise team building, temporary exhibition activities, and basic training for beginners in curling; The competition grade polymer track can be used for land curling events.
